Seeds were sown for Flare in the summer of 2012, and after a year of research, prototyping and development we launched our first women's jersey collection, closely followed by a full riding clothing range of jerseys, shorts as well as casual t-shirts and hoodies. Fast forward a little and we're stoked to be heading into 2017 now with 3 years of experience under our belts, full of excitement and anticipation of what's to come.
We began in 2013 by making all of our clothing in the UK, but from 2016 onwards we now manufacture all of our technical garments in Portugal - why? By heading south we are now able to take advantage of new innovations in textile manufacture, access to Europe's specialist fabric suppliers, advice from experts in the industry as well as a highly skilled workforce. Our custom kit is still made in the UK (North Nottinghamshire to be precise) which enables us to deliver a quick turnaround time. It's also nice to pop down to road to chat through if any problems occur.
Flare is more than just clothing - we want to promote cycling of whatever discipline to be something rad, whether it's racing downhill, riding familiar trails or just having a blast at the pump track, so check out the journal, Facebook page or Instagram for news on what we're getting up to, cool videos, interesting articles and race reports from #teamflare.
